[Grand Plastic Surgery] The importance of Ptosis correction

What is Ptosis correction?

Ptosis correction is a procedure of tightening the levator muscles(muscle to raise the eyelid) for those who have week levator muscle and cannot fully open the eyes without using the forehead or eyebrow. This procedure can make the pupil more exposed, making the eyes more full, and improving the tired-looking impression.

The importance of Ptosis correction

A poorly done double eyelid surgery often ignores the additional procedures that are needed for the patient's eyes. The patient in the above picture had severe ptosis and mongolian fold(epicanthal fold) that needed to be corrected. However, double eyelid was set in the previous surgery without correcting ptosis and mongolian fold, resulting in dull and tired-looking eyes. By Grand's eye surgery specialist, ptosis correction and medial-epicanthoplasty were diagnosed to give the best-looking result. You can see that the eyes look more open, bright, and defined after the revision surgery. Ptosis correction and epi-canthoplasty can be an additional option in some cases but is often an essential procedure to bring out the most satisfying results.
