[Grand Plastic Surgery] Grand's hair transplantation



There are two main methods for hair transplantation, Incision method(Follicular unit transplantation, FUT) and non incision(Follicular unit excision, FUE) method.  These two procedures are similar in that it both gives natural looking results but the difference is the way the follicles are extracted. The implantation process is the same, each follicular are grafted one by one to the desired area.  In incision method(FUT) the follicular are extracted in the back side of the scalp by making an incision and taking the strip. It will leave a fine thin scar on the back of your scalped which is easily covered by hair.  In the non-incision method( FUE), hairs are extracted individually, using minimally invasive technology.The benefit of this method is that it doesn’t leave any scarring on the back of the head and enables patients to return to daily life quickly compared to the incision method.  You may expect 1 week downtime in general for hair transplantation. The transplanted hair will fall off in between 1-3 months and new hair will grow which will last for lifetime.The surgery is performed under sedation anesthesia for both methods. The recommend length of stay in Korea is 14 days for incision method for stitches removal and 1 week for non-incision method(There are no stitches to remove).
